Our next wedding was an absolute dream and feature two of the kindest people you could ever meet! I met Rebecca, Scott, and their dog Fisher at their engagement session this past fall. Fast forward to the beginning of May, and we were back at Wade Oval for their wedding portraits (how time flies!).
In addition, this past month was exciting for Rebecca and Scott as they graduated from medical school AND tied the knot (#couplegoals!). For such an incredibly busy couple, you wouldn’t know it as they were relaxed and joyful throughout their big day. We started out at the Cleveland Marriott with a champagne toast and some nice detail shots. After Rebecca’s mom zipped her wedding gown, we were ready to head over to their first-look!
As we made our way over to the Cleveland Museum of Art’s staircase, the groomsmen and Scott were already lined up and ready to rock n’ roll. It was the cutest first-look ever, as you can tell by Rebecca’s expression, and from that moment on, it was all smiles and excitement! Even though it was a bit rainy out, their portraits are absolutely stunning. Here’s a little photographer secret --- rainy days really do result in the best photos (especially with vibrant colors) because the lighting is softer and more diffused!
After we headed over to the Cleveland Botanical Garden, we all headed to the Glass House’s upper level. It seriously felt like we were lost in a jungle! If you haven’t been to the greenhouse, it is filled to the brim with tons of exotic plant life. Butterflies and birds flew over head as we continued photographing the bridal party and additional wedding portraits.
Their ceremony, held under a breathtaking floral arch, was intimate and emotional (there were definitely tears!). In a separate ballroom, more magic was taking place! Twig Florals did a phenomenal job creating delicate centerpieces (with illustrations of their dog, Fisher!) on all the dining tables. At the head of the room was a White Flower Cake Shoppe wedding cake masterpiece! The three-tiered cake held a very special wedding detail; a Welsh, carved spoon on top! This was a nod to Rebecca’s family’s heritage and something they will keep and treasure forever. The flowers were also symbolic of Rebecca and Scott's backgrounds in California, Indiana, and Wales.
Thank you again to the happy couple for including us in their beautiful day!
